Stage. Film. Television.

For over 25 years, Nicole Romine has directed and choreographed acclaimed works across five continents, inspiring artists from Broadway stages to disadvantaged youth. Her career includes collaborations with luminaries such as Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Alexander Godunov, Janet Jackson, and Helgi Tomasson, former Artistic Director of the San Francisco Ballet.

Her first film, ing, received the Grand Prix at the Asolo International Art Film Festival (Italy) and Best First Film at the International Film Festival South Africa. Her second film, Mistress of Tears—part of a current project Moon—premiered at the 18e International Festival Signes de Nuit in Paris and went on to win Best Experimental Short at Cannes Indie Shorts and La Paz International Film Festival, among numerous other international honors.

In 2022, she founded Ser Arte, a nonprofit performance collective blending dance, poetry, and music to provide young artists opportunities to perform and create.

A former professional ballerina, Romine trained at Walnut Hill School of the Arts and with Meredith Baylis at the Joffrey Ballet. She began her career at the Stuttgart Opera House and danced internationally with many companies as a freelance artist.

She appeared on the television series FAME and Solid Gold.

As an Artistic Director and choreographer, her choreography has appeared on PBS (Emmy-nominated), television, and stage productions worldwide. For years, she served as choreographer and director for Andy Williams, collaborating with leading figures in entertainment and show design.

In 2007, she was named Volunteer of the Year  by Jackson County Family Court for facilitating classes in life skills through the arts for high risk young  women in the juvenile system. She believes that  every single life is an invaluable  work of art in process and that we are here to create...

Lover of animals, nature, literature, and mysticism, she lives joyfully with her husband and two cats, Ofelia and Lolo.

For tragic whimsy, she loves to sing the music of Édith Piaf with the brilliant pianist Thom Greathouse.
